Optional Extras

A number of different optional extras are available to riders to purchase in addition to their entry package. All the below services can be booked in the rider zone after you have completed registration.

Accommodation
We have a host of pre and post race accomodation options available to riders.

The longer stay pre-race packages include exclusive outings to familiarise yourself with Cape Town and introduce you to the Cape’s local flavour! You’ll meet and share stories with your fellow riders from around the world to prepare optimally for the race whilst enjoying the vibe at our official race hotel.

The shorter 1 & 2 day packages are ideal for the local South African rider who requires a shorter stay, but would also like to experience the race hotel atmosphere and enjoy the convenience of our pre-race services.

All packages include transport for you and your bike to the start of the race (the start location will be announced in October; this is not included in the standard race-entry fee), bike tuning service, race info service, Round the World party etc.

Post event accommodation is also available for after the finish of the race at Lourensford either at Ervinvale Estate or the Spier Hotel.

Around the World Party
The Absa Cape Epic attracts participants from a host of countries around the world, and to celebrate this, we are holding an "Around the World" party on Friday 25th March 2011.

In order to welcome all the international participants and to celebrate each country’s individuality, we will ask all attendees to dress up in traditional clothes or colours representing their country. There will be a prize for the best dressed and spot prizes throughout the party.

The evening will give our international riders a chance to proudly share with one another where they come from, while enjoying the company of fellow riders from South Africa and around the world. This exciting event is going to be a sensation of flavours, colours and culture, not to mention superb company and food! Book now in your rider zone.

Massage Services
A team of dedicated massage students will be on hand to looking after your tired legs. Massage packages consist of  8 x 30 minute time slots. You will need to complete the online booking form to secure your massages after purchasing the product in your rider zone.

Personal Race Nutrition Service
You will receive 5 x personalised 800ml Absa Cape Epic Race Nutrition water-bottles with your rider number printed on the bottles at registration in Cape Town.

Each night you can give us 3 water bottles with your own personal nutrition/recovery drink already mixed in it. We will deliver two of your water bottles (chilled) to water point 2 every day and the third will be waiting for you at the finish line.

We will only provide this service for Absa Cape Epic water bottles.

Supporter Package
The supporter package allows riders to bring along their supporters to share in their Absa Cape Epic experience.This package will allow your supporter to sleep in the race village beside your tent for 7 nights and eat breakfast and dinner in the dining marquee.

Race DVD
Video footage of all the action on route and behind the scenes.

Photo CD
Personalised photo CD including at least 30 pictures of yourself (riders completing all 8 days) and 30 general event pictures. These can be ordered directly from Sportograf after the race.
