I entered the Absa Cape Epic...
I think my reason is similar to many people's reason - the thrill of doing something "huge". The ACE is something truly remarkable and for years, watching it with my husband and feeling an intense sense of FOMO, we both decided to enter. We were meant to complete the race this year, 2016, but both decided it would be better to postpone - I just wasn't quite ready yet. So, after some careful thinking, regrouping and planning, we rolled our entry to 2017. We're both so excited for next year, knowing full well that we'll be more ready than ever, with a long stage race under our belt too, by the time March 2017 rolls round. We. Cannot. Wait.

Best Results:
Completing the Cape Pioneer Trek 2016, as well as multiple Sani2C's and other 2 day stage and one day races completed.

The journey of improving - getting my riding "up there" has been an incredible one. I am a Jane Ordinary at best, but since last year, my riding has made enormous strides.

I'm faster, more confident and happier on the bike than off it. Training is not a chore and the time spent, honing my skills [I say this loosely] and laying a foundation for my body has been remarkable.
