Absa Cape Epic gets a refreshing new partner

2017-12-13

aQuellé is excited to partner with the Absa Cape Epic and provide much needed refreshment after a hard days riding. aQuellé has offered  South Africans a natural spring water range and delicious flavoured drinks since 1998 and are thrilled to be sponsoring a world-class  sports event in South Africa.

“The Absa Cape Epic is a two-man team event, and after 15 years, we’ve learnt a lot about partnerships. With aQuellé, we share an innovative spirit, and this is a brand that’s more than up for the challenge of taking on our untamed, African mountain bike race,” says Mike Flinn, the Absa Cape Epic Managing Director.

The Absa Cape Epic has been a must-ride event for riders from all around the globe and features some of the most challenging stages, to test even the most seasoned rider. The 2018 Absa Cape Epic route showcases the most wondrous parts of the Western Cape, starting on the impressive slopes of Table Mountain and ending in Paarl at the magnificent Val de Vie.

“With a total distance of 658km and  13 530m of climbing during the event, having aQuellé  to keep riders quenched will be a welcome respite from some gruelling riding  next year”, says Flinn.

Suzelle Stegen, Marketing Manager of aQuellé, says “The Absa Cape Epic event offers time away from the hustle and bustle to spend time outdoors, enjoying life the natural way and letting the real joy flow, which is what aQuellé is about – we are a brand that is 100% for people and it is fantastic to be part of such an event which promotes healthy active living in our beautiful country.”

aQuellé sources its natural spring water  in the heart of KwaZulu-Natal and is mindful of the current water crisis in the Western Cape. “We are very aware of how the water shortage is impacting everyone in the Cape and we ensure to keep this top-of-mind during the event,” says Stegen. “As a brand we are also committed to recycling and are an associate member of PETCO, a PET plastic recycling company in South Africa.
