Absa Cape Epic Partner with Devil’s Peak Brewery

2018-10-01

The Absa Cape Epic is proud to announce that Devil’s Peak Brewing Company, one of South Africa’s leading and pioneering craft breweries, has joined the Untamed African MTB Race’s sponsorship family. The partnership will see Devil’s Peak become the official beers of the Absa Cape Epic.

Based in Cape Town, Devil’s Peak is not only named after the mountain which they and the Absa Cape Epic share, but their beers are also inspired by their South African heritage. Their flagship King’s Block House IPA for example takes its name from a landmark with which most Absa Cape Epic entrant will be familiar – the King’s Block House above the infamous Plumb Pudding Singletrack. While their First Light Golden Ale is virtually pure bottled African sunshine, such is its rich flavour.

Devil’s Peak also produce an alcohol free beer dubbed the Zero to Hero Pale Ale; which is ideal for mountain bikers as it provides the refreshing flavour of a Pale Ale without the dehydration drawbacks. This is sure to make it a popular choice after a long hot Absa Cape Epic stage.

“We are absolutely thrilled to have partnered with Absa Cape Epic, the world’s premier mountain bike race” Russell Boltman, Devil’s Peak’s Managing Director, said. “Devil’s Peak appreciates the grit and determination required to be at the very top of your game, and this race, along with its athletes, embody what we believe chasing excellence is all about. Never settle. Always forward. Something we as a company strive for daily.”

“Devil’s Peak represents a hugely successful South African story and we are proud to partner with them” Michael Flinn, the Managing Director of the Absa Cape Epic stated. “Since their foundation in 2012 Devil’s Peak Brewing Company have grown into the South African craft beer industry leaders. They are a brand which many breweries look to for inspiration and in that we see many similarities with our own journey. We believe that through this partnership both Devil’s Peak and the Absa Cape Epic will continue to grow, innovate and inspire.”

Whether it be a guilty pleasure or a hard earned reward beer and mountain biking have long gone hand-in-hand. With that in mind cheers to the inception of a successful partnership between Devil’s Peak Brewing Company and the Absa Cape Epic.
