Become a Pioneer in 2017

2016-09-27

We’re thrilled to introduce you to our new sister event in New Zealand - The Pioneer.  The Pioneer is also owned by IRONMAN, the US-based company which recently acquired the Absa Cape Epic.

This seven-day stage race takes place on New Zealand’s South Island, and will take you on a unique pioneering journey through the pristine high country, which very few will ever get to experience.

The Pioneer 7 Day epic is a 549 kilometre point to point course with over 15,000 metres elevation, taking in some of the most spectacular highlights of the Southern New Zealand Alps including the Port Hills of Christchurch, Aoraki/Mt Cook (NZ’s highest mountain), Lake Pukaki, the Ohau range, Pisa range and Snow Farm. Each day’s racing finishes in a different host-town with local Kiwi hospitality on offer, ensuring every one of your over-night stays is unique and enjoyable. To cap it all off the finish line is in Queenstown, adventure capital of New Zealand, and an amazing place to celebrate achieving something truly epic!

As a special offer to Cape Epic riders, if you enter the 2017 Pioneer 7-Day Epic or 4-Day Traverse before midnight on Sunday 30 October 2016, you’ll receive a free Pioneer T-shirt and Pioneer Trucker Cap! All you need to do is enter the promo code EPICPIONEER17.
