On-Event Accommodation Options

As part of the standard entry package we provide, and pitch, a two-person tent for each rider in our tented race village from Sunday night to Saturday night. A comfortable foam mattress is provided in each tent, but riders must bring their own sheet, sleeping bag and pillow for the duration of the event.

Riders also have the option of purchasing Upgrade Packages:

Option 1:
Riders on the Avis Upgrade package receive enhanced services at the race such as hotel/guest house/B&B accommodation, transport, personal baggage assistance and personal massage services.

Option 2:
Our vast race village contains a section for those riders who would like to stay in the hustle and bustle of the race village, but with a bit more privacy and comfort than the tented accommodation. We call this section the Mobile Home Park.

Riders are responsible for organising their own mobile home that must fit into the Mobile Home Parking spot we offer of 8m x 7m. The Mobile Home Park comes with dedicated ablution services, as well as the option to bring a maximum of two supporters to stay in your allocated spot in the Mobile Home Park, these supporters will have access to tents and mattresses.

Avis Upgrade

General Information
The Avis Upgrade package are for those teams that would prefer a few more luxuries than our Absa Cape Epic tented race village offers.

Upgraded teams will be grouped into groups of 4 (i.e. 8 riders) and each group will have their own passenger vehicle for the duration of the race. One host/driver and one masseur will be dedicated to each group. The masseur will give each rider a 45 minute massage per day. The scheduling of this massage can be arranged directly with the masseur. The host will collect and deliver all rider bags to the hotels and drive the teams between the race village and their hotel before and after the day's riding.

It is important to note that both team members are upgraded when purchasing an Avis Upgrade package and rooms are on a per person sharing basis.

Important Information
In order to maintain our good standing relationship with our towns and venues, we are unable to inform you in which guesthouse/hotel you will be accommodated ahead of time.  Your host will provide you with all the necessary information on registration day.

You can request to be grouped with another Avis Upgrade team, please send an email to the rider team at registration@cape-epic.com so we can try to assist.

In towns where accommodation is limited, the organisers may be required to secure additional accommodation in surrounding areas. All efforts will be made to ensure minimal travelling time between accommodation and race village but in some cases travelling time of up to 30 minutes will be required.

Please note: This package is available to riders only and not supporters.
