I entered the Absa Cape Epic...
I love nature and the outdoors, I love a challenge, I love seeing new places from the saddle of my bike or on foot, I love the mountains. I love the comaraderie with other participants. The Cape Epic has all of the above factors. I have a wish to cylcle up as many of the passes in South Africa before I turn 70 years of age ( I have 8 years to go). The Cape Epic will help me along in this goal. I am not racing for a place. I am going to savour the experience!
Best Results:
I have done "To Hell and back" 3 times. Each time was different, and therefore a highlight. In 2004 it was " as hot as Hell". In 2005 it "rained cats and dogs" making the ride very challenging. In 2006 the weather was perfect, and I had very good company.
