I entered the Absa Cape Epic...
I heard about the Cape Epic shortly after starting mountain biking just over a year ago. At the time I thought, "Wow, that's extreme! Maybe one day I could try that."
My love for the sport grew tremendously... I used to sit at my desk and count down the hours till I could be out on a mountain slope... just me, my bike and a rough trail.
I was invited to attend a Cape Epic talk at Cape Union Mart. I was sold by about 20 seconds into the route overview video! I walked out of the presentation fired-up and desperate for an entry, which I was fortunate to finally find. Big thanks to Chris!

Will only have been biking for 16 months when we'll be doing the Epic, so still quite new to the biking scene. The races I've done have been more for enjoyment than the competition. Mountain Biking just such a great sport... doubt there's many other sports that let you see as much of our diverse, beautiful and often gruelling country. :) My most memorable ride's probably been an 8 day mountain biking tour from Stellenbosch to Cedarberg and around towards Clainwilliam.
