Why Riding: Our slogan is: \"Women4Women4Children\" - For EMPOWERMENT, for UPLIFTMENT, for EDUCATION, for GROWTH and for PRIDE. Nelson Mandela: \"Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world\" Masikhule Childcare shares Mandela\'s vision: This not for profit organisation (NPO) was founded in 2005 by Leanne Keet (B.Sc. Occupational Therapy) to ensure that underprivileged children (0-6 years old) in disadvantaged communities in the Western Cape can attend Early Childhood Development (ECD) centres which offer a holistic early learning programme in a well-equipped environment. Masikhule Childcare offers: * TRAINING and QUALIFICATIONS to primary caregivers, educare staff and unemployed women in basic and advanced ECD knowledge and skills * MENTORSHIP service in ECD centres to ensure implementation of the programme * JOB PLACEMENT and CREATION programmes Research shows that through women, one can empower a whole community. Annually, Masikhule Childcare\'s program reaches in excess of 1400 young children from birth to 6 years with over 200 women receiving training. As an ALL-WOMEN team cycling the ABSA Cape Epic, we aim to promote awareness and create funds for MASIKHULE CHILDCARE.
