I entered the Absa Cape Epic...
I have always wanted to ride in a mountain bike race and I guessed I picked the most prestigious one of them all - almost by accident. Looking at the map, the closest race to Rwanda was the Cape Epic, so I picked it. My MTB experience was pretty limited in Scotland but got into riding in Rwanda, my place of residence over the last two and a half years. The place is an absolute gem for riding - the landscape, the 1,000 hills, thousands of singletrack trails, stunning volcanoes and rainforests. I teamed up with riders from Team Rwanda, a team who rode already rode the Cape Epic a couple of years back. I am riding with Rafiki, who rode the Cape Epic twice before, and is from Team Rwanda and plays a major part in the recent film 'Rising from the Ashes' which is to be screened, I believe, at the Cape Epic. Hence, I am the absolute-amateur riding amongst some incredible people..what an honour

Best Results:
Entering this race...the first race I have ever entered in my life. Apart from this, riding trails across Rwanda in preparation for this race has been spectacular.
