I entered the Absa Cape Epic...
In 2010 I heard of the Cape Epic for the first time from several of the Tour D'Afrique riders who had entered it. It sounded like an interesting event (to finish, not necessarily to rank). Having had a few years off endurance sports to deal with graduate school and medical issues, I'm ready to experience it! Also, rusks and PVM bars.
Best Results:
I was the slowest racer to race for Cambridge University from 2006 to 2009!
In 2010, I became youngest racer to complete the Tour D'Afrique with EFI status.

I love to ride my bike in beautiful places, and I like a challenge. Challenges don't come much bigger - and races don't get much more scenic - than the Cape Epic. It helps that my team-mate Sunil is pretty persuasive when it comes to bike projects.
Best Results:
Carrying my bike over the line at the Bontrager 24/12
Climbing Jacob's Ladder in the snow
Testing the limits of a frame on Mam Tor
Mixing it with the skiers on the way down the Brocken
