Why Riding: I myself have a very rare genetic disease known as Pompe disease, it is a neuromuscular disease resulting from an enzyme deficiency which causes an accumulation of glycogen. It results in progressive muscle weakness, muscle pain and many other issues. Text books suggest that I shouldn't be capable of doing the things I have been doing - endurance, multi-day events. I am doing these events to create awareness of the many rare diseases out there that doctors are missing and people are being misdiagnosed constantly. I want to help others gain access to life-saving treatment and supportive care for improved quality of life.
