I entered the Absa Cape Epic...
I saw video of the Cape Epic a few years back and thought I have to do this race, but never really thought I'd have a chance. I've been to the Western Cape twice before and love the region.
Best Results:
First race in 1994 I finished 2nd wearing running shoes and running shorts while everyone else was full on kitted. Since then, have been on the podium quite a few times for divisions under the pro level, 12 hour relays, 6 hour solos, 100K races. But just being out there, still competing is the biggest highlight of all. My first running race was in 1976 and I'd prefer to keep racing as long as I can.
