Adrien Niyonshuti is the survivor of 7 siblings after the Rwandan genocide slaughter of 1994. In 2011, he was selected to represent his home country in the 2012 Olympic games riding the mountain bike cross-country event. To say his journey is a remarkable one would be a staggering understatement.

| Absa Cape Epic Swiss Reunion |

Swiss participants of this year's Absa Cape Epic and some "greenhorns" joining the Absa Cape Epic in 2012, met at the Swiss Cape Epic Réunion, next to the beautiful Lake of Constance, in Switzerland. The Swiss Réunion took place for the 4th time in a row, organised with lots of passion by our famous waterpoint volunteer, Maya Kägi.

| Bulls Charmed by Cape Flats Kids |

Fifteen kids from the JAG Riders programme at Bergsig Primary in Bonteheuwel spent some one-on-one time with MTB racing champions, Karl Platt and Stefan Sahm. Platt and Sahm, who together make up the Bulls team, won the Absa Cape Epic in 2007, 2009 and 2010.

The new route was officially unveiled on Tuesday in Cape Town, but it was the official Route Launch Dinner in Johannesburg that had the sponsors, media and riders rubbing shoulders with the best riders in the world.
